What AI enrichment adds — and what your conversation adds.
Separate captured facts, enrichment results, and human context before a CRM handover.
Contact data rarely arrives in a perfect shape. A scanned badge may have a company name but no website. A card might use an abbreviated title. AI extraction and enrichment can help structure those fragments, but they have different jobs.
Extraction is about the source
Text extraction turns captured material into fields your team can work with. Scanicorn uses AI parsing for badge and business card text. The task is to identify details present in the source, such as a name, company, or email address.
A structured record is easier to review than a photo alone. Still, the structure does not make it infallible. Keep the source available and check important contact fields before using the record for follow-up.
Enrichment adds another source
Professional enrichment can add company or contact information beyond the original scan. Scanicorn’s documented enrichment workflow uses professional-data lookups and background processing.
Treat the resulting information as additional evidence. A lookup may describe a company well while matching the wrong individual, or reflect a previous role. Compare it with the source and the conversation instead of treating every returned field as verified fact.
Keep provenance understandable
A teammate should be able to distinguish information the attendee provided from information added later. Your internal workflow can define which fields need review and which can be used as supporting context.
People supply intent
An enrichment service cannot tell you why someone stopped at your booth. It does not know whether the person is researching for a colleague, evaluating a purchase, or simply curious about a demo.
Capture that intent through a note, activity, or relevant form response. These are the details that make a record useful to the person responsible for the next conversation.
Use a deliberate handover
Prepare CRM mappings around the information your team actually needs. Review identity fields, retain the event source, and avoid presenting an enrichment result as a guarantee of accuracy.
A sound sequence is capture, extract, add context, enrich where useful, review, and synchronize. The order makes room for both structured data and the human understanding that gives it meaning.
The example data on this website illustrates that sequence. It is synthetic and is not a benchmark of enrichment speed, accuracy, or coverage.
